The teachers made yummy pancakes for all the kids!

My sweet Gracie, I think she looks like me!

It was pj day at Grace's pre-school today!  Grace sported her princess jammies (she really wanted to wear her Sleeping Beauty summer pj gown) and hot pink crocs.  She looked adorable!  The kids listened to stories and then enjoyed hot pancakes!  What a fun and comfy day!  BTW, Alex had pj day at Grandma's and Paw-Paw's.  Yes, he got pancakes too!

It was a Halloween-themed dance day at KDW.  The kids dressed in their costumes, and the moms packed goodies for everyone.  The kids danced for a bit, and then it was party time!  Yummy treats and lots of sugar!

Canning Apple Butter

G wanted to eat the entire jar!

Sterilizing the jars, a must!

Almost done, smells great!

We made apple butter for the first time this week!  After our trip to North Carolina, we had two big bags full of apples to use!  My friend Cindy gave me detailed canning instructions.  I was so excited to try it out and a bit nervous!  Keith did the peeling, coring, and slicing of the apples.  The kids helped of course, they were so into it!  Alex made Keith stick his tongue out while peeling, hilarious!  We threw a ton of apples into the crockpot, some went into the dehydrater, I frooze a bag and then I even made an apple crisp.  Yes, our house smelled like apples!  The apples cooked in the crock pot overnight and were ready for me in the afternoon to can the apple butter.  I did it all by myself, yes I'm proud.  This is huge!  The end result, awesome home-made apple butter!

Pumpkin Carving Contest

The great pumpkin line-up!

Kids, make a funny face!

And these aren't all our Lifegroup kids!

Keith decided to carve a self-portrait!

Last night, we had a pumpkin carving contest/chili night with our Lifegroup friends!  It was a gorgeous night and perfect carving time, right before Halloween!  Keith was a champ, he even brought some fancy carving tools!  After the pumpkins were finished, we forgot to vote for the best!  Keith made a HUGE pot of his famously delicious chili, so everyone started to chow down on the food!  Oh well, I guess we were all winners!  We missed you Taylors, Sloans and Ancelets!

We had a little Halloween party for a few of Grace's friends.  Grandma worked her magic and I made a few tasty treats!  It was a great chance for the kids to enjoy this spooky holiday and for a few of my girls to get together!  What a blast!

Apple Picking

What a mountain top experience, literally!

Alex did more eating then picking!

Grace going for the perfect apple!

My apple pickers!

Yesterday, we took a family trip to Flat Rock, NC to pick apples!  We visited the beautiful Sky Top Apple Orchard.  It was so pretty!  We hiked the entire orchard (practically) and finally found the apples!  It was a beautiful fall day and we so enjoyed God's creations!  Can't wait to make apple butter now!
